Home to more than 30 cideries and ranked fourth in the United States for apple production, Pennsylvania is celebrating cider in a big way with a statewide festival on June 24, 2017, just outside Gettysburg, Pa.
Coined “Cider Town” because of its growing hard cider industry, Gettysburg welcomes cider makers and cider enthusiasts to this inaugural event, which will feature a variety of alcoholic ciders – sweet, dry and many infused with other fruits and spices.
The one-day festival welcomes cider makers from throughout Pennsylvania to showcase their ciders, provide samples and many vendors will be able to sell product directly to ticket holders. Activities will include special seminars from cider experts focusing on apple pressing, cider apples, cider pairing and tasting tips.
With live music and an artisan market, Adams County orchards will offer a picturesque backdrop to taste the finest Pennsylvania-produced ciders. The festival will also feature foods for purchase from local food trucks and vendors.
Festival transportation will be provided and accommodation packages will be available.
The event will raise funds for the PA Cider Guild. Guild President Hank Frecon of Frecon Cidery is pleased to support this event which is a welcome platform to showcase statewide cider products, the Cider Guild and the industry as a whole.
